Create From Scratch

Build a subtitle file cue by cue with live validation — from first line to finished .srt.

What this site does — and what it deliberately does not

It does

  • Convert, shift, merge, check and create subtitle files — entirely on your device.
  • Show every cue in a preview before anything is written, and flag overlaps, inverted timings and too-fast lines.
  • Keep timings exactly as they are unless you deliberately change them.

It does not

  • Translate, transcribe or extract subtitles from video — that needs audio and AI, which this site deliberately avoids.
  • Upload, store or share your files: there is no server side here to upload to.
  • Burn captions into video pixels — that requires a video editor or ffmpeg; your SRT is the input that workflow consumes.
